Mission & Vision:
The programme aims at equipping graduates with a solid education in the fundamentals of the law and a sound understanding of its place in our society. A successful completion of the course should be able to produce one of the finest lawyers of the country. However, the programme aims to introduce students to legal theory in a practical, commercial context, so that whether they end up in practice as a lawyer, or working in a different sector outside the law, their LL.B. (Hons) degree will further their vocational goals and prospects.
Admission Requirements:
A student should have at least Second Division or minimum GPA of 2.5 in both SSC & HSC examinations or a minimum GPA of 2.0 in SSC or in HSC, combined total being not lower than 6.00; or A level (in two subjects) with GPA of 2.0 and 0-level (in five subjects) with a GPA of 2.5 or above, in the scale of A=5, B=4, C3, D=2 & E=1 (not more than one F will be accepted). For the children of Freedom Fighters, a minimum GPA of total 5.00 in SSC and HSC examinations must be required (Official Freedom Fighters certificate must be produced). Break of study for more than two years is not allowed.
Semester duration:
Bachelor of Laws [LL.B (Honors)] is a 4 years program consisting of 12 semesters. There are 3 trimesters in each academic year namely spring (January to April), summer (May to August), and fall (September to December).
Degree requirement:
At least 132 credit hours must be earned to be eligible for graduation.
Waiver:
Students will get 15 percent tuition fee waiver if he/she obtained total UPA 7 both in SSC and HSC. But the students those who have obtained total GPA 10 both in SSC and HSC will get 30 percent tuition fee waiver. At least 5 eligible persons coming from any particular corporate body or organization will be treated as special group. This group will be eligible for 20 percent tuition fee waiver.
